FAQ

What happens when you reach out?

If you're weighing up that first message, here's exactly what to expect, and answers to the questions clients and parents ask me most.

From first contact to ongoing support

  1. You reach out

Leave your details on the callback form. No referral needed, and no paperwork to start.

  2. I call you back within 24 hours

A free, no-obligation phone consultation: a relaxed chat about what's going on for you or your child, which support fits, and whether I'm the right fit. No pressure to commit.

  3. We book your first appointment

A 50-minute session, and I come to you: your home, your workplace, school, or the community. This one is about getting to know you on your terms, not testing you against a checklist.

  4. Ongoing support

We set goals together and work at your pace, adjusting as we go.

Frequently asked questions

Eligibility & getting started

NDIS, private clients, referrals, and how soon we can start.

Do I need an NDIS plan to work with you?

No. I work with NDIS participants and private clients: children, young people, and adults. New Leaf Allied Health Services Pty Ltd is an unregistered NDIS provider offering services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We are currently unable to provide services to NDIA-managed participants.

Do you see private (non-NDIS) clients?

Yes. You don't need an NDIS plan to book.

Do I need a referral?

Not to get started. You can request a free phone consultation with me directly. GPs, paediatricians, psychiatrists, and support coordinators can also refer through my referral form.

How soon can we start?

I'm currently accepting new clients. Once you leave your details, I'll call you back within 24 hours for your free phone consultation, and we'll book your first appointment from there.

Sessions

How long they run, where we meet, and what a first session looks like.

How long is a session?

The first appointment runs 50 minutes, face-to-face, wherever you're most settled. Ongoing sessions are the same length unless we agree something different.

Where do sessions happen?

Wherever you feel most settled: your home, your workplace, school or kindy, or out in the community. I'm fully mobile, so there's no clinic and no unfamiliar waiting room.

What does a first session actually look like?

It's about connection, not assessment under pressure. I follow your lead, get to know how you experience the world, and start building trust. There's no checklist you have to pass.

What if I, or my child, has a hard time during a session?

That's okay, and it's expected. I never force, push, or talk anyone through a meltdown as if it's misbehaviour. Regulation comes first, always. A hard moment is information, not a failure.

Fit, progress & cost

Ages, pacing, how progress is measured, and fees.

What ages do you work with?

I have clinical experience across ages 0 to 65, including Autistic people, ADHD, Global Developmental Delay, Intellectual Disability, and a broad range of sensory profiles.

How long will therapy take?

There's no fixed program or set number of sessions. It depends on you and your goals, and we review it together as we go. I'll always be honest about what I think is useful.

How do you measure progress?

Against the goals we set together and what matters to you, not against a developmental milestone chart. Progress is built on strengths, not deficits.

What does it cost?

The first phone consultation is free. New Leaf Allied Health Services Pty Ltd is an unregistered NDIS provider offering services to self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We are currently unable to provide services to NDIA-managed participants. Medicare rebates may be available with a referral or care plan from your GP. For private clients, I accept all private health insurances, and private self-pay is welcome. I'll confirm fees with you upfront, before anything begins, so there are no surprises. Everyone is welcome.
