Allostatic load and the "stress cup"
Why someone tips over at 2pm, how stress accumulates across a day, and how to read the warning signs before the overflow.

The cycle repeats.
You already see it. A person melts down at the same point every day, and the strategies you've been trained in treat the behaviour as the problem to stop. So the cycle repeats, the person is labelled, and your team is left stretched and second-guessing.
Reacting, not supporting.
Most educators and care teams were never trained in what's actually happening: a nervous system that's overwhelmed, not a person who's choosing to be difficult. Without that lens, even a caring, capable team ends up reacting instead of supporting.
Each workshop is built around how the people in your care actually experience your environment, and what your team can do about it. Core topics:
Why someone tips over at 2pm, how stress accumulates across a day, and how to read the warning signs before the overflow.
How a calm, attuned adult settles a dysregulated person, and the specific moves that help instead of escalate.
Practical adjustments to lighting, sound, space, and routine that lower the load for everyone in your care.
Recognising different communication and interaction styles as valid, and connecting with the people you support without asking them to mask.
Every workshop is tailored before I arrive. I learn what your team is navigating, shape the content to your cohort and environment, then deliver it on site so it fits your space and your day.
We talk first
A short conversation about your team, the people you support, and what you want to walk away able to do.
I tailor the session
Content shaped to your setting (early learning, school, disability services, or community), not a generic deck.
I deliver on site
At your centre, school, or workplace, around your timetable.
Your team keeps the tools
Practical strategies your team can use the next day, not theory that fades by Friday.
A shared language: your whole team reading the same signs and responding the same way, instead of each person improvising.
Strategies to support: when you support regulation early, the rest of the day flows naturally.
Confidence, not second-guessing: your team understands the "why", so they can adapt in the moment rather than reaching for a script.
An environment that works for everyone: sensory-safe changes benefit the whole room or service, not only the people with identified support needs.
Workshops are delivered by an AHPRA-registered occupational therapist who is also neurodivergent. That dual perspective sits behind everything the training covers: clinical grounding in how the nervous system works, alongside firsthand understanding of what it feels like to be the person the room wasn't built for. It's why the training is practical and never deficit-focused.
